The Precision Behind Our Organic Edges
There is something inherently beautiful about the natural contours of raw wood. At our studio, we believe that functional home decor should feel like a piece of the earth, brought indoors. But achieving that flawless "live edge" look while maintaining a perfectly flat, usable surface for your charcuterie spreads requires more than just traditional woodworking—it requires precision technology.
The Magic of CNC Machining While mass-produced trays are stamped out in perfect, uniform rectangles, we use advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) routing to craft our signature organic edges. This technology allows us to map out intricate, flowing lines that mimic the natural growth patterns of a tree.
Why It Matters By combining traditional craftsmanship with CNC precision, we get the best of both worlds:
-
Unique Character: No two curves are exactly alike. The routing paths are designed to highlight the unique grain and texture of the specific piece of wood we are working with.
-
Perfect Balance: An authentic live edge can sometimes be brittle or uneven. Our CNC process ensures that while the edge looks beautifully organic, it is structurally sound, smooth to the touch, and perfectly balanced for serving.
-
Zero Waste: Precision cutting means we can maximize our wood stock, drastically reducing waste and honoring the materials we use.
The Final Touch Once the CNC machine finishes carving those beautiful, textured edges, every single tray is sanded by hand. We meticulously smooth out any harsh lines, ensuring the piece feels soft and inviting. Finally, it is sealed with a food-grade finish to protect the wood and make the natural colors pop.
When you serve your favorite cheeses, fruits, and artisan crackers on one of our trays, you aren’t just using a cutting board—you are showcasing a piece of functional art, shaped by technology and finished by hand.
